Formed in 2005 as Ashes of Christ, the band's name was changed to "A Winter Lost" in 2007. In 2010 Kim Dylla completed the lineup.

Kim Dylla is a live singer for Cruachan. She also sang in Kung Fu Dykes, Warthrone, and, from 2014 to 2015, in GWAR under the name Vulvatron.
