Bassist Marlene and her have been friends for ten years and played music together without thinking about forming a band. In 2023, motivated by the concern for the representation of women on the South German scene, they now form Defiance. The band also promotes feminism, and campaigns against homophobia, transphobia and racism.

Sabrina Chaparro is of German and Venezuelan descent. With an artistic background in ballet and pole fitness, Sabrina started screaming in 2022 and focused on this technique in 2023. Sabrina's inspirations are Emma from Dying Wish, Kat from Scowl, Nina Hagen, Christina Aguilera and Olivia Rodrigo.
