At first, Opera IX played gothic doom death metal, then moved towards symphonic black metal. During its career the group had several male singers and female singers. Cadaveria sang and played keyboard from 1992 to 2001. Abigail Dianaria sang from 2014 to 2018. Dipsas Dianaria is the project’s singer since 2018.
